You’ve obviously sold some hosting packages and taken advantage of social media, so you’re ahead of the game in that aspect. Improving your ranking in SERPS in this industry is going to be tough, but you can certainly succeed without being on page one of Google. You’re obviously familiar with WHT, so I’d at least recommend being a little more active here and on other forums to get your brand out there. Your packages don’t tell the whole story about what you’re offering and I’d be interested to learn more about that. Do you have a niche that you promoted on social media?

Thanks for the feedback SenseiSteve!

Yes, we have definitely sold some hosting packages this past few weeks!! I’m very happy about that. Also I wanted to ask about thoughts on VPS overselling? Do you do any at all? I can see where it would be okay to oversell to a small degree, as not every VPS is going to be on running at 100%, 100% of the time. So not sure how much IF any should be oversold. Right now I am NOT overselling, as I simply don’t have enough data to determine if that is something I can even do, or is of good/normal practice or if that is very frowned upon. (From my eyes, as long as it’s not effecting your users in a negative way it’s fine, so there is some amount you could without being greedy about it… if that makes sense??)

Yes, definitely being more active around here is what I’m going to do! It’s hard finding things on here however to A.) Boost my posts without fluffing them B.) Finding things to reply to that aren’t 6 months old. Where do you all hang out and talk? LOL I see everyone in offers and the advertising area hehe

SERPS is a great idea, I do need to work on that! It has been on the back burner for way too long. I agree it’s going to be tough. Though I think with my business name I might have some chance with the wording to get decent page ranks at least.. but time will tell I suppose

What part of the packages don’t tell the whole story? What else could I expand on to better answer your question? OS options? Upgrades? Where are my dedicated servers located? Things like that? Please, feel free to give me questions so I can answer them. This is a new part of sitting down and figuring out how I can really get to the core of what say, perhaps you as a customer wants/needs without going into the red doing it. I’m realistic and understand pricing factors and this whole market is tough anyways. I know that my prices aren’t cheap or anywhere near the low end, but neither are my products. They’re of great quality and I personally think they’re priced correctly.. though, feedback on prices are appreciated!!

As for the niche I promoted on social media, I was actually just very specific about what services I offered in keywords and at first it was just a lot of likes and actually had some shares, but I don’t think the VPS’s were ordered directly from that Facebook advertisement, but was more organic because it was shared throughout people I have no idea who they are. So either I just got lucky and marketed it at the right time or there was a market for the keywords I was putting in.

My referral list from awstats showed very little from Facebook itself but more direct link which has me sort of frustrated because I wanted to see where my traffic was coming from more specifically. If people didn’t get to my business from Facebook but typed the name in directly to the address bar Facebook doesn’t see it as a conversion thus giving me a high direct traffic versus from Facebook.

Thanks again!
